Class description
For Fantasy lovers! As a group, we’ll learn structures for a story, create a setting together. Then we’ll develop a character who will fight trials to win the treasure. After we brainstorm a list of trials, each writer will set our character out on the path to his/her chosen trial. We’ll sprinkle in other essential choices, then we’ll create and conquer our own writing trials. Each writer will add creatures, minor characters, love interests, and most importantly, overwhelming challenges that will test our hero and excitement to the story. As we make our way through our trials, we’ll share what we’ve written and review how the details of our own story might reveal the character’s growth. While we learn to give and receive feedback with panache, we’ll practice the best tools for revision. Then we’ll polish and combine each of our stories to create a magnificent tale of a hero braving the ferocious and tame to achieve his/her goal.
